Pendegrass book signing Tuesday

Nearly 50 years ago, John Pendergrass was a United Air Force flight surgeon serving in Vietnam.

In 2016, Pendergrass, this time in a different airplane instead of a F-4 Phantom, returned to Vietnam for an IRONMAN Triathalon. He chronicled his experiences, both as a flight surgeon fighting a war and as 60-plus-years-old eye surgeon who had traveled from Hattiesburg, in his second book Racing Back to Vietnam: A journey in War and Peace.
